When Miraz ordered the Eastlands, home of the Elves, to be invaded, Princess Emilia Elessedil was the only elf to survive. After watching her family get slaughtered, she was imprisoned by Miraz and locked away in a cell for five years. The Telmarines, who had once been friends with the elves, had stabbed them in the back.
When the Professor sets Emilia free the night Miraz's son is born, he hopes she will help keep Caspian safe, after all, they were once close friends. However Emilia is recaptured with Trumpkin, and when the two are sent to be drowned, they are saved by the Kings and Queen of Old. Keeping her identity a secret, Emilia travels with them to find Caspian, so she can give the man who betrayed her a piece of her mind.
