'Hood of Bone' is the story of Senan Flintlock, a brilliant young soldier who is sent into a virtual world by the corporation he works for. Twenty years from now, Senan graduates from a brutal privatised military academy. After a terrible injury, he is given a stark choice by his employer: allow his skills to be copied into a gaming environment that they police, or face unemployment and a huge medical bill. Senan accepts, but the duplicitous Frecor betrays him by placing him in an artificial coma in a secret laboratory and changing his online identity. As a detective in the hyper-realistic 'Junction City', Senan searches for crime within for the benefit of Frecor, without even knowing it's all an illusion. When Senan discovers his true identity, and realizes that he is trapped, he must try to escape with the help of a small band of loyal friends. Note: Hood of Bone is complete at 78,000 words, but not all posted here. With the help of beta-readers, I am working to improve the manuscript.
