(Book 1 of 3) Grace, the top student and teacher's pet at a strict Catholic school, has been having a secret affair with the charming but manipulative Father David, the school's priest. One evening, she meets him in the chapel, where they share a glass of wine. Unbeknownst to her, the wine is poisoned. As Grace begins to choke and convulse, she collapses on the chapel floor and dies. However, when she awakens, she finds herself trapped as a spirit, tethered to the chapel. Her final moments are a blur, and she has no memory of how she died, only a burning sense of betrayal and a growing thirst for vengeance.
Grace's spirit is bound to the chapel, emotionally unable to leave, and every time she tries, she is pulled back by an invisible force. She struggles with her identity and her faith, questioning the religion she once devoted herself to, and wrestling with the anger she feels towards Father David, despite not remembering how or why he betrayed her. Her inability to remember her death leaves her in a constant state of confusion and frustration.
Grace's pagan roommate, Annie, begins to suspect something happened to Grace after noticing her strange disappearance. Annie has a gift for magic and begins investigating Grace's death through rituals. During one of these rituals, she unintentionally summons Grace's spirit to their dorm room. Both are shocked-Annie by the sight of Grace's ghost, and Grace by her sudden transportation out of the chapel.
As the story unfolds, Annie becomes determined to uncover the truth behind Grace's death and helps Grace regain her memories. Together, they explore dark secrets about Father David, his sinister motivations, and his connection to Grace's demise. With the help of Annie's pagan rituals and Grace's growing supernatural abilities, they seek justice, even as Grace grapples with her shattered faith and newfound identity as a spirit.
While her best friend Cassidy snacks on brie and boys in France, Darcy Li-Quinn must face her last year of high school and the unpredictable wrath of her sister, Danica, alone. Darcy's plan for dealing with Danica and her heinous friends is simple-be invisible. But first, she's promised Cassidy she'll do 'one brave thing'.
Mustering the courage to say 'hi' to the cute boy on the bus, Darcy expects rejection or indifference. She doesn't anticipate a grumpy ghost with unfinished business who needs her help.
Suddenly, a quiet year of flying under the radar looks increasingly unlikely.

Suddenly, a quiet year of sitting on the sidelines looks increasingly unlikely.

'Get A Life' is my entry for Open Novella Contest 2023 and is inspired by the following prompts.

9. There's an urban legend that's been circulating for years about a taxi cab that doesn't take you where you want to go, but where you need to go. One night, you stepped into this cab.
