As it turned out, they were a little more than twenty years off when it all fell apart. Merudoxin. Hearing that word should have made everyone grimace at the thought. It should have filled their body with pure anger to see women everywhere rave about the new drug; to see its name plastered all over the news. They told us it would make labour painless. They told us it would revolutionize childbirth. The only thing left to do was to test it. On us. Women everywhere were lining up at their local hospitals just waiting to get a taste of the drug. Conceitedly, they signed their names. Everyone was hoping the medicine would work. It was to be a major science breakthrough! But no one ever promised that the babies wouldn't get hurt. No one seemed to care about the endangerment of their lives. That's where I came in. A voice for the voiceless. I would never let a life be wasted, even if my own life became at risk. **Sneak Preview** The doctor took the baby in his hands and took a look himself. I heard him take a sharp intake of breath. "Bloody hell!" he exclaimed. "What should we do with her?" the surgeon asked. "We're going to have to get rid of it" he announced simply. I whipped my head towards Arturo. I began getting up, trying to end this tyranny but Arturo held me back and that's when I remembered where we were, who I was carrying inside me. I cried quietly as I watched the woman scream and whimper as she realised the fate of her child. And the fate of herself. The surgeon wheeled her inside a door followed by the Doctor with the baby. "You can't do this to us! Give me my baby!" she sobbed helplessly until she said in a quiet voice, "Let me hold her once". The doors closed before I could see if they fulfilled her last wish. Everyone was evacuated from the home planet over 150 years ago. Our planet was dying, it was only a matter of time before our race was wiped out. We now live on a synthetic planet designed and built by our ancestors who came together from all parts of the globe to devise a plan to save us. We have lived peacefully for over a century.. Until now. Our lives were threatened when a mysterious and deadly virus broke out, killing entire communities at a time. The council says that they have a plan; they said that in order to prevent the death of more innocent people they will test every man, woman, and child for signs of the virus. Any person found to have been infected will be quarantined, the ones who die will be given a proper burial while the ones who survive are deemed carriers and are to be sent to the home planet to prevent further outbreak. I was prepared for the people I know and some I love being taken away for the greater good, but I never would have expected that among the list of people being taken from my community, that I would be one of them.. I survived the quarantine. Now for the survival of my planet I, and the other Carriers must be sent to the home planet. I'm going back to Earth. 100 years ago, amidst WW3's nuclear bombing, a deadly virus was released in the atmosphere and nearly wiping out the humanity. It lives inside the human brain thriving on the empathy receptors, leading to irrational behaviour and ultimately brain death. To slow the damage, scientists created L.O.V.E, short for Living Off Vital Emotions, a nanovaccine that numbs the virus and switches off all strong emotions. As a last resort and with a dying planet, the Supreme Government created the City, a place to contain the infected survivors suitable for the experiment. Those in the first stages of illness became ideal candidates to receive the neuroinhibitor. Having their feelings restrained and their memory altered, those who come of age are designated a life partner through a Selection process, thus preserving the humankind. A few decades after the trial had started, scientists had a major breakthrough. The nanites, which are highly chemically reactive organisms, are changing their bio-engineered purpose when dopamine levels are high. With a new generation of nanoids, stronger and smarter to fight the battle, the virus doesn't have a chance. Many attempts were made to create a man-made version of synthetic dopamine and each time the outcome was a disaster. Their goal is to create new generations, immune to the virus. These are called Purebloods, the offsprings of those who find pure love, the only cure to save them from a violent death. Running out of time, the Experiment entered in its final stages. To minimize the threats, the Colonies have sent their best soldiers to oversee the trial and protect its key subjects. If only things were going according to plan, or better...stay hidden. It is the year 2077, despite the efforts of the Boston Police Department, organised crime in Boston is at it's highest. Divided in families and gangs these maffiosi have been the scourge of the Boston populaton for longer than any can imagine. However the board is soon going to change, big players will be wiped off allowing for the small ones to thrive or for the surviving to crush everyone under their heel.. Hoping to avoid the oncoming disaster the largest fish desperately look for a solution. After all, once the world has been set on fire, someone has got to rebuild it, right? Two hundred years later the world has changed, and certainly not for the best. Between the Raiders, mercs and horribly irradiated monsters that roam the late city of Boston, misery, famine, violence and fear haunt the commonwealth. And to make matters worse, the last barrier between the people and those that would hurt them; the Minutemen, recently crumbled under their own corruption. Operation Raccoon City
Same as my other 4 books I wrote Resident evil 0, 1, 2 and 3. This is Operation Raccoon City, I will be watching the gameplay on youtube, since I do not own this game. (It does tie super well with the storyline, especially of Resident Evil 2 and 3) I will be writing it through, some in my own words and some as per the game. I am not going into deep, deep details either... Like this is just a enjoyment for me to write and publish for the heck of it. It's not going to be perfect. It's there that they end up stumbling into a rabbit hole that the trillionaire's death opened wide up and that neither can seem to escape from.
