Sirius is given basic rules for survival from a fellow selkie. Don't tell anyone you're a selkie. Don't let anyone see you wet. Don't sing or dance in front of anyone. Don't let anyone see you cry. Selkies are very powerful creatures, and Sirius doesn't understand the half of it, but he knows it paints a target on his back. Then, he meets Remus. Remus, who is kind and gentle and patient.
