August, a young man who suppress his emotions to their very limits, has his life come to an end one fateful night after encountering a beast know as a Lemures. Before he can pass on, a woman brings him back to life... at a cost. August finds out he's no longer completely alive. Now, using the power within his suppressed emotions, he's forced to fight the Lemures along with a mysterious group known as the "Evetide Church".

Her cruel aunt left her in the forest to die and rot. The four demons healed her wounds from her aunt, but it came with a price. The girl would have traits that would spiral out of control, and her eyes could kill if her traits surpass her limits. To keep watch over her, the demons decided to adopt her, and let her live a human life. Two transformed into a couple, and the other two transformed into children. As she scanned the empty area, her eyes caught a figure-a man standing far away, motionless. Something about the way he stood unsettled her. Then, out of nowhere, a group of people rushed toward him. Startled, Han took out her phone, recording the scene from a distance. "What's going on?" she wondered. Planning to at least send the video to the police. "I shouldn't get involved in a street fight when I just landed here, right? ..." "Ugh ... I don't Know ..." She stepped closer, but what she saw next made her freeze in fear. The group wasn't just attacking the man. They were biting him, tearing at his flesh, their movements jerky and unnatural. Her stomach churned as her mind screamed the truth: "they weren't people. Essence... spirit... that which gives meaning to life. It isn't the soul which is necessary for life. Even when a mortal has a soul, without essence... the mortal becomes an empty shell existing for nothing. Our father, he created us pure and perfect.
