When Isla, a fairy with a mission to help humans, finds herself entangled in the Montgomery family's dark past, she didn't expect to lose her heart in the process. Jonah Montgomery, a brooding young man haunted by his father's criminal legacy, has spent years trying to escape the shadows of a mafia empire. Now working undercover with the police to dismantle the very organization his father helped build, Jonah has only one rule: don't let anyone in, especially Isla. But when his carefully constructed walls start to crumble, the line between duty and love blurs dangerously.
Isla knows she shouldn't get involved-fairies don't fall in love with humans. Yet, Jonah's sarcastic humor, dark charm, and deep sense of responsibility draw her in. Together, they must navigate a world of crime, deceit, and betrayal, where a wrong move could cost them everything-especially when Linda, the true mastermind behind the mafia, uncovers Jonah's secret mission.
"Why don't we just... leave it all behind? We've got the money. The reward from the police, the money left from your dad... We could build something safe. Start a company, or do anything that doesn't involve risking our lives every day. You'd make a great CEO."
"Me in a suit, behind a desk, running board meetings? Sounds like a nightmare."
"Come on, you'd look amazing in a suit. You could totally pull off the 'intimidating boss' look."
"Oh, so you'd be into that, huh? Your 'intimidating CEO' husband?" Jonah teased, raising an eyebrow. "I can see it now-power lunches, fancy offices, and you popping by with lunch like 'Mrs. CEO'."
Isla giggled, her worries momentarily lifting. "I'd totally bring you lunch, but only if you don't act too high and mighty. I'd still need to keep you grounded."
Marissa is one of three siblings of the head family of New Hope. Everything is as perfect as it could be in a world where mystical beings and humans are on the verge of another war. Until her father arranges a marriage to an older shape-shifting sea dragon pirate, all of her plans, from her career to her personal life, are now dead in the water.
Levi is a world-famous pirate, mainly for how his family came into power. He wants to establish lasting peace between all of the clans, even at the cost of his freedom. It's easier said than done when his family pressures him to keep to tradition, and infighting may destroy the treaty before it can even begin.
When they embark on this relationship, will they see past their differences and save the country from another war? Could they fall in love along the way, or will they sacrifice their hearts and freedom for the sake of peace?

"I'm told love doesn't have a place in business or duty," Marissa said with a smile.
"Even at my age, I find that a hard pill to swallow," Rhys said, pouring himself another glass.
"I would imagine at your age, there's a lot of things hard to do," Marissa giggled.
"What experience do you have with older men," Rhys asked, laughing.
He leaned back into the couch, stretching his arms along the back. His seated stance widened. Marissa sat back as well and angled her body towards him.
"None, just a guess from what I hear," Marissa said, finishing her drink.
"Well, on behalf of all old men, I take offense. Especially since you've never been with one. We're quite capable, more so than the younger ones," Rhys said, filling her glass.
"That's something I would need to experience for myself then," Marissa said.
"It's possible," Rhys said.
"Was that an offer," Marissa asked.
"It's whatever you want it to be," Rhys said.
