A reteling of Elizabeth Gaskell's North and South and Tolkien's The Hobbit
Bilbo Baggins is a young man from the lower aristocracy of southern England. He lives in the Shire with his father Bungo Baggins, surrounded by greenery and peace, dedicating his life to teaching and academia. One day, his life changes when he must move with his father to the northern city of Milton, the industrial heartland of England. It is there that he meets Thorin Oakenshield, the righteous and heartless owner of one of the town's cotton factory.
Soon his ideas of social justice, class and privilege are called into play when a workers' strike breaks out against the industrial bosses, and Bilbo and his people are caught up in it.

A knock. A gentle rapping on the door. A simple gesture of indirect propriety. And yet, so powerful as it has the ability to change all that we know. First Bilbo, now I. This gesture, if you will, holds power in the timely inconsequential, yet divinely consequential, unleashing of events...fate, in simpler words. For with a knock, comes a key. A key to unlock a door. The door which, to hand, it opens. And open it does, to new faces. New faces of old histories and future memories. Memories of companionship, hope, and love. Oh yes, dear Frodo, a knock is more than just a gentle wrapping on the door, a gesture of indirect propriety. A knock is the call to adventure, and in this case, my own. For every journey begins somewhere, not at the twisting of a doorknob, but at the initiative to change the world. Most people know me by my mother's name: the Savior of Durin, Queen Under the Mountain...Erudian Houdart. If not, they know me by my family, inborn royalty and kin to four Fellowship members. I am neither brave nor a warrior. I am an unintentional thief, for I stole the gentle heart of Bilbo Baggins. I am Pyrhhin Oakenshield, and my story begins with a knock, a gentle wrapping on the door, a simple gesture of indirect propriety… This is the sequel to "Saving Durin" and follows the story of Erudian Houdart's daughter, Pyrhhin Oakenshield, during the time of "The Lord of the Rings." In the next part of our story, the company of Thorin Oakenshield rush across Middle-Earth in order to get to the Lonely Mountain by Durin's Day. (Y/n) and Kili grow closer, but both are too afraid to say anything about their feelings. And what's more, is the ring she found in the hands of Gollum, the creature found beneath the Misty Mountains. Will they make it in time? And will (Y/n) and Kili admit their growing feelings? Read and find out. I DO NOT OWN THE HOBBIT OR ANY OF THE CHARACTERS. I ONLY OWN (Y/N). ALL RIGHTS GO TO J.R.R TOLKIEN AND THE CREATORS OF THE MOVIES!!
