Smaller Smiles

Charlie ran through the halls without a sense of direction. Trying and failing to not breathe too much of the red smoke that surrounded him.

Tears fell from his sockets. 'How could he do this to me?' The bitter thought only widened the hole in his heart.

His running slowed until he stopped. dropping to his knees and paws, he looked around and saw fire. A tall, four-legged purple cat walked in front of him, a gapping wide smile spewing a stream of blood red smoke.

Charlie's eyes frowned upon seeing the cat. "Why?" A whisper left him. Slowly rising to his feet, a new burning feeling came rushing into his chest. The cat in question ears flicked, stepping forward before stopping.

Charlie didn't know what this feeling was, but it caused him to yell. "I THOUGHT YOU WERE MY FRIEND!"

The cat eyes narrowed on him. Taking a step back before standing still, a raspy and harsh voice came from his gapping maw.

"𝐖𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬" The cat was repulsed by the fact Charlie could say such a thing. He IS his friend.

This one was more out of boredom and needed to keep my mind going. so you get this. Hopefully, I'll actually take the time to get somewhere with this.
