In this story, Dipper and Mabel get dropped into Gravity Falls, just like they did originally, but instead of the dangerous, scamming, and even fun great uncle they had in the original timeline, they're taken care of by an almost broken Stanford Pines who, by the time they arrive, has never been this close to actually giving up for once.
