They could not have been more different.
WE could not have been more different.

Had it not been for our hearts beating in unapologetic unison the entire time, I would have questioned whether or not they are truly human. Alive. 'Real'... for when I first laid my eyes upon them, they certainly did not seem real.

It was as if we had come from different worlds, destined to meet halfway & learn each other's wounds, each other's sorrows... but also each other's smiles & the memories they originated from. Yet, the more I 'learn' from them - /about/ them -, the more I doubt reality.

How can we be so different, so estranged... yet whenever I look into their alien eyes, I end up seeing myself?
