They could not have been more different...
WE could not have been more different.

Had it not been for our hearts beating in unapologetic unison the entire time, I even would have questioned whether or not they are actually human. Alive. 'Real'... for when I first laid my eyes upon them, they certainly did not seem real.

It was as if we had come from different worlds, destined to meet halfway to learn each other's wounds, each other's sorrows... but also each other's smiles and the memories they originate from. Yet, the more I 'learn' from them, the more I'm starting to doubt reality.

How can we be so different, so estranged... yet whenever I look into their alien eyes, I end up seeing myself?
