Violet Harris was just your every day nineteen year old, working at a coffee shop to pay the bills with dreams of going to university. The only things on her mind were what to have for dinner and what fresh Hell would tomorrow's shift bring?
Violet lived in a little town called Forgotten Creek. It was a quiet little town, just large enough to contain a shopping mall and a small university. The most exciting thing that happened there was the time old Mr. Samuel won the lotto jackpot. Other than that, nothing went on. So when Shannon Miller turned up dead one cold autumn morning, the town was shaken to its core. Shannon was beloved among her friends and her death tore a hole in the community. Then, there came Kayla Andersen. Two young, brunette, pale women, killed under similar circumstances. Was it a coincidence, or should Violet start to worry? She saw herself in those victims. Her warm brown hair and milky complexion made her a target.
Was Violet next, or could she somehow be his ultimate victim? She couldn't help but wonder. After all, her wavy brown hair and pallid complexion fit his profile. She was the right age, too, at nineteen; Shannon had been twenty, while Kayla had been twenty-two. The only thing they didn't have in common, and it wasn't much comfort, was that Violet was not a student like them. It made her feel no safer.
The police had no leads. Minimal evidence, no witnesses, just their neighbours, who had listened to the whole thing and only one called the police. Who would be next? He wouldn't simply stop killing, that was for sure. So who, then, was his next victim?
