Asher was in an accident when he was younger that left him paralysed in one leg and orphaned. He lived at an orphanage for six years without even one interview because no one wanted a disabled kid. All he owned by himself were a set of crutches that were much too small for him, an anchor necklace, and a few sets of underwear. He thought that he would never be adopted.

That was, until Simon Cowell arrived at his orphanage asking for the hardest kid to take care of.
