Anastasia, a twenty-year-old woman, miraculously survives a catastrophic car crash that claimed her parent's lives. Unable to afford her parents' home on her income, she moves in with her uncle Frederick.

Unlike the city she resided in, the small town is one of a few that welcomes the supernatural. Anastasia knows only of the stories she heard. Eighty years ago, human leaders sent armies into a portal that opened up out of nowhere. No one knows what happened, but who returned to earth wasn't the armies, but a fae prince.

Many humans could not comprehend why the prince chose not to exterminate their kind. The elders who recall those times speak of a darkness that the prince carried, which brought death wherever he went. Some even claim he had the power to command the dead.

Chaos ensues when her path intersects with that of Declan, a vampire clan leader highly respected in the town. As secrets come to light, she and her best friend Catalina find themselves entangled in a conflict between the Fae and Vampires that threatens the existence of humanity.

Nineteen year old Anna Preston appears to lead a life typical for a young woman in modern-day America. But she has a secret. For the past three years she's been seeing shadowy figures mingling with the populace. Made of smoke and vapor with a vaguely human form, they are not overtly threatening, but in the recesses of her mind there are whispers of nightmares long buried and forgotten. Jared is of a race created solely for the purpose of protecting humankind from demons, and for the first two centuries of life he was fully devoted to the service. Until the very ones he protected repaid him by destroying everything he ever loved. For decades Jared's hatred of humans was a living thing, but time has a way of dulling strong emotion and centuries later he is mostly indifferent. But when he learns a vial of his blood is being used in depraved activities, a long forgotten past comes hurdling back. ** Humans, Vampires, Faerians, and Shifters once banded together to fight their common enemy, but it has been many centuries since the demons presented a real threat to the world- and in these modern times most are oblivious to the danger lurking just beyond their perception and mankind has reduced both allies and enemies to fairy tales and boogie men. Signs are beginning to appear that allude to this threat rising in power once more, but with the alliances largely broken and those still continuing the fight few and far between, the human race is on the precipice of a grave danger that could threaten their very existence. And so it is of dire need for the allies to gather together once more. Ancient prophesies will soon begin to surface, one in particular that speaks of a unifying force initiated by the unlikeliest of beings...

This is a book I wrote in 2017 and published in 2018. I wrote it when I was 15-16 years old, and it shows. It's not great. But this book kicked off my novel-writing career, if you can call it that, and set the stage for the sequel, so here goes. The book itself concerns Anastasia Chapman, who's searching for her missing cousin in the hometown she left ten years ago. Her investigation leads her through the now-changed town and sees her sifting through the pieces of her past to discover who might be behind the disappearance, all while pursued by a killer with a thing for 19th-century poetry. Content Warning: This book contains depictions of violence, gore, racism, homophobia, sexual abuse, and death. If this content will distress you, this book may not be for you. Additionally, some of the characters in this book are horrible people. It should be clear that their views do not reflect the views of the author.
