Eighty years ago, human leaders sent armies into a portal that opened up out of nowhere. No one knows what happened, but who returned to earth wasn't the armies, but a fae prince.

Many humans could not comprehend why the prince chose not to exterminate their kind. The elders who recall those times speak of a darkness that the prince carried, which brought death wherever he went. Some even claim he had the power to command the dead.

Chaos ensues when her path intersects with that of Declan, a vampire clan leader highly respected in the town.
