Alexander Pearson is the oldest son of a wealthy businessman. Eloise Winter is the daughter of a failing businessman. Eloise's and Alexander's grandfathers went to school together and remained lifelong friends. Feeling like he may be able to help out his old friend to keep his company and family afloat, the two decide Eloise and Alexander are to be wed. 5 years later Eloise has never actually met her husband, until one accidental steamy night when he returns home.
