I exited the SplatsVille lobby, ashamed. My last match had stamped me as a fallen star. My clothes were tattered, and the soles of my shoes were loose. I sighed in disappointment at myself. How did this happen? 

An octoling comes up to me and offers me a job at Grizzco Industries. A job that can pay off my debt to my suffering. But there's a catch. A dangerous parasite has infected the salmonoids, making them more aggressive than ever. Is the risk worth my life or will them splat me first?

These worlds could contain anything and what ever awaits them on the other side of their portals will definatlely be an adventure. This series of events in this book is (technically was because it is being re-written) canonical to the 38 Saga. However, this follows a different story, so you do not need to read it to understand these books. After twelve millennia, life moved on and now the surface is dominated by evolved sentient sea life. To add insult to injury, practically all non-mollusks, more noticeably, mammalians, have gone extinct. Even if that makes him an endangered species, it does not deter him from his ultimate goal: to save a loved one who was thought to be long lost. With his only form of help being guidance from a mysterious man on a radio, Akikta will do whatever it takes to bring a piece of his family back and survive in this new era. Even if that means making himself out as an enemy.

In order to succeed in protecting Earth from a genocidal traitor, he has to evade capture, make amends with the New Squidbeak Splatoon, and explore a large mechanical metropolis known as Atlantis; All while looking for a way to save Marie, an idol he foolishly handed over to the real enemy, and his friend, Inka, who he unintentionally got captured. And the worse part is he's running out of time to do all of it. If Akikta doesn't find a solution to his unfortunate condition, he'll be dead by tomorrow. But he's never been a quitter, and he isn't gonna start now. With nothing but his wits, his octoling friend, Nakji, and his will to live, Akikta will find a way to save everything... or die trying.
