Each writer had her own theories on why the Parshendi killed Gavilar. Some claimed he must have insulted them at the feast that night. Others said that the entire treaty was a ruse, intended to get the Parshendi close to him. But that makes little sense, as they had much better opportunities earlier.

Then there was the Assassin in White-the true anomaly. Why would the Parshendi hire an outside assassin? Did they fear they could not accomplish the job themselves? Or perhaps they didn't hire him, and were framed. Many thought that was unlikely, though, considering that the Parshendi took credit for the murder.

But the murder had happened six years ago. Why was Jasnah having her study it now? Surely she wouldn't make Shallan study something if there was no point to it, right?

Y/n couldn't waste time with idle speculation. She needed to get close to Jasnah-see what she was researching.

For if anyone could find where Urithiru was, it would be Jasnah Kholin.

It wasn't really the result I was looking for. In fact, it was even better. I never really thought that this would happen to me. I never believed someone could love, well, me. But they did. He did. And despite his 'reputation', despite his lifestyle, despite everything everyone had ever told me, I loved him just as unconditionally. But will everything stay in harmony? How long will my paradise last for until my past comes back? Will they haunt me? Catch me? Kill me? "Livia? Tiago?" I ask, my voice breaking slightly. If they're here, then.... "Where is he? Where's-" "Gattina." All the breath in my lungs disappear as I turn to find the source of the voice. Half-way through my turn, I can see his dark silhouette at the end of the hallway. When I breathlessly say my next word, it feels as if I can breathe properly again for the first time in over a month. "Lupo." I run towards him without a second thought, sprinting full speed at him, and jump into his awaiting arms. He engulfs me in the warmest hug I've ever felt, entrapping me entirely - not that I mind. I cry in joy at finally being reunited with him as I bury my head into his neck, burrowing myself into him and vowing never to let him go again. Unwrapping myself from him, I look up at into his eyes. They're filled with love and relief, the same emotions I imagine my eyes are filled with. That quickly changes when his face contorts into one of pain. "Cole?" my brows furrow in confusion. He lets out a pained and strangled noise before he drops to his knees, collapsing at my feet. I gasp when I see Viktor behind him, holding a bloodied knife. A/N: Hey guys. Be prepared for dark themes, mature language, mature scenes, and so much more. Warrior, Forbidden: Book Three of the Comhairle Chronicles by ALMcGurk
27 parts Ongoing
Mairsinn had served as the commander of the Taghadairean for longer than she cared to remember, part of the sisterhood responsible for protecting the halls of the gods and training with the battle-slain who dwelled in Tallamarbh. She also decided which candidates passed the trials or died attempting to gain recognition as Comhairle warriors. She wasn't sure how many bhampairean she'd killed because they chose to step into the Proving Grounds, underprepared. She only knew that she was weary of it, and sometimes she needed to escape. Unfortunately, chasing an illicit, temporary release from her duties left her vulnerable, and at least one bhampair had a bone to pick with her. When a ghaisgeach attacks her, knocking her out and dragging her to a grim dungeon where several bhampairean are being held, Mairsinn needs to figure out what her captors want from their prisoners. What connects the captives? Will her jailers want to keep her or sell her to the highest bidder? Can she find a way to escape? And if she does, will her place as commander still wait for her? Meanwhile, Aodh, second-in-command of the Comhairle-Chlaidheamhan, had been tasked with persuading an unwilling noble to help the Council with legal matters. That wasn't work for a warrior, but leaving the task to Corvinus seemed... risky. Nonetheless, when Aodh's gift as a seer revealed that one of the Taghadairean had been abducted by someone wielding a Comhairle sword, his focus needed to shift. Making nice with a noble no longer seemed so important, not when the woman responsible for protecting the gods and assessing new ghaisgich had been abducted; stolen away from a supernatural establishment trading in angel blood, a place she should've had no reason to be. Worse, the visions of her just keep coming, making his gift even more intrusive than it had been before. But why? There was no love lost between him and the commander, yet he couldn't get her black eyes out of his mind. He needed to find her.
