In the final book, Chase and Rocky must settle their differences and, in their own way, continue the walk toward recovery. But a pack of desperate dogs, led by a power-hungry extremist German Shepherd, threatens to steal and destroy everything the Patrol loves-- starting with the Bay. Chase is on the case; but he finds out that the threat is closer to the team than he realizes.

Chase, fresh out of rehab, works to rebuild his frayed relationships with Everest and to prove to the team that he has changed; but new complications arise that force him to decide what is most important in his life, and what he is willing to give up in order to protect those of whom he loves most.

While Rocky is reunited with Gasket, a revelation from her past challenges Rocky to practice the strategies he'd learned in rehab, and it stretches him to his breaking point.

Cody, struggling with his own past, tries to ignore the pain that bubbles up and navigate his ever-fluctuating relationship with Marshall. But when push comes to shove, he must make peace with his past when his choices shatter his reality, and the ripple effect breaks the entire team.

All of them are faced with the question of how to move on when life is brutally and unalterably changed. They must come to grips with the reality that some problems are too big for them to fix alone. And it is in these moments, that they have to come together to protect their home from being destroyed.
