I played with his hand in mine; traced invisible messages in his palm with my finger, hoping just maybe he'd magically be able to get them. Tears started falling down my cheeks. I held his hand gently against my lips. Tears dropped on his fingers until they were as wet as my eyes. I rested my head on his limp hand. "I told you I needed you to stay."
