When businessman Nao stumbles upon an injured Siren, Caboose, he takes it upon himself to heroically bring her back to health. But he didn't bank on his accidental marriage to the Siren... or dealing with a dangerous organization that's hunting her down.

Season 1 of Washed Ashore

***

Finding an injured Siren in the back alley wasn't on Nao Kazuki's to-do list. Feeling particularly heroic, he takes it upon himself to save her and house her in his bathtub until she's healed. If only things could've stayed that simple, right?

When Nao and the Siren, Caboose, find themselves bound to each other by an accidental force, they're desperate to find a way to break the bond, even if it means taking a journey across the world to get it done. But travelling with the Siren won't be easy, especially when the organization that captured her won't rest until they find her once again.

During their mission Nao finds himself growing feelings for Caboose, despite her sassy and difficult nature... and the fact she's a fish. As their chemistry grows stronger, they're forced to question just how much they're willing to risk for each other, and if their love can survive impossible circumstances.

On Revelry Island, eighteen-year-old Anya has mastered the art of pleasing others. A songwriter, she was raised by her boss, Byron, with exacting intent and trained to be a perfect, dependable, obedient product, meant to be presented to the world. Trained from the age of six in nothing but music, art, and drama, Anya writes music and performs to ensure the survival of Revelry Island. And, twelve years later, she cannot argue with the results of her raising: world fame, professional prestige, and relative safety. And, just as Byron planned, caught between the conflicting expectations of her sly boss, pirate captains, and military officers, Anya has learned to keep the delicate balance of these three volatile organizations. And she is damn good at her job. Yet deep in her heart, in a place she keeps hidden from her friends and coworkers, Anya sometimes has thoughts about a life outside of Revelry Island. Anya is surviving when Tristan, a charming, flirtatious adventurer, barges into her office and challenges her to dream. With Tristan's endless enthusiasm and audacious spirit to encourage her, Anya opens the small place in her heart where she has always dreamed of adventure. Then Tristan and his crew unknowingly set into motion a string of events that tragically upend Anya's situation, forcing her to give up her music. So, with the help of a sarcastic conductor, a wary adventure crew, a noble, resolute first mate, and a competitive sea captain and a dutiful pirate captain (who both feel an immediate disdain for each other the moment they meet), is Anya willing to fight and risk everyone's lives for the future she has always dreamed of? Or will she safely live her life for the satisfaction of others?

It's a deadly plan, and it goes like this: First, become a crew member of the Avourienne, a pirate ship notorious for its charismatic captain and wicked ways. Second, trick the ship's cunning strategist, famous for winning every game she's ever played, into believing a delicately spun lie. Third, get close enough to their tyrant king to put a knife through him. Deadly doesn't quite describe such a plan. In fact, inconceivable may be the better word. But Archer Kingsley has a knack for such things, and he feels he's going to pull off this plan with the ease he does most everything. Perhaps he's not quite aware of the absolute hell that's about to break loose, but truthfully, it's so much better that way. Because true adventures are born from uncertainty. * Cover by xxsoteria Mature themes you may encounter in this book: - harsh language (it's a pirate book) - violence (it's a pirate book) - sexual implications (it's a PIRATE book) However, this story does not violate any of Wattpad's mature guidelines and therefore is not marked as such. Cass has no memories of her parents, only impossible dreams of waves and orcas and, sometimes, her mother's voice. When she and her adopted aunt return to the Pacific Northwest island--where her parents died twelve years before--Cass hopes the place will trigger long-buried memories. Instead, she discovers that the impossible is real, and that history is about to repeat itself. Unless she can stop it. ***Teaser*** The water hit with such a shock of cold that Cass thought she was going to pedal up and out of it again like some cartoon character. Instead, she flailed and splashed and smashed one arm against a piling as salt water poured into her raincoat & filled her shoes. "How do you like it?" Jason yelled. She spun until she could make out his form, black against gray sky. "What?" she sputtered. She dragged one arm from the water long enough to shove wet hair from her face. Jason became clearer: black hair dark above his yellow raincoat, arms crossed over his chest. "What the hell are you talking about?" "I asked how you like it, going for a swim in this water." She was open-mouthed with disbelief. It was a bad idea; a surge lifted her and slapped salt water into her mouth. Bile burned her throat as she coughed and all the while she was still flailing at the water, fighting the drag of shoes and clothes to keep afloat. She should kick them off-that's what you were supposed to do if you fell into the ocean with your clothes on-but she was only a dozen feet from the dock. Besides, it was her only coat. Jason watched her the way she'd watch a barracuda. "I know you're following me." "Following you?" What. The. Hell. She gave a mighty kick and tossed her coat onto the dock. Jason just stood there. "I nearly drowned last week, you know that? Now you show up as if nothing happened." "Last week," Cass said slowly, "I was in Argentina." Whatever he'd seen, it wasn't her.
