Ambrož Hudec is born into the world as his parent's miracle baby. Giving him the name "Immortal" in Czech for good luck, Ambrož spends his fond childhood years in the peaceful countryside of the Kingdom of Bohemia, in which his family operates a textile wool business. Spending his youth in his cherished neighborhood, the beloved tranquility dissipates when Ambrož and his family are forced to move to the city from economic turmoil due to the industrial boom of the mid-1800s. Struggling in impoverished conditions, Ambrož's family would slave away in dangerous and dirty factories, which in return would pay them a morsel amount of money.
