Angels on Ice

It's been 20 years since humans made contact with aliens and became the newest member of the Galactic Union. Twenty-five-year-old Rei Navarro, a young woman hailing from the west side of San Antonio, travels around as a member of Legion 54, a "private detective" agency that focuses more on fighting interstellar criminals than solving the crimes. The group is made up of all females: Rei; Miso, an ethereal Midnar with the power of telekinesis; Garla, the rock-hard Korbed who uses brute strength; Yujong, the lovely Laurat who uses her vines and her "pistil pistols"; and Yoko, an android who isn't an official member but repeatedly runs into them. The five are also members of a "pod," a five-person romantic partnership common on Miso's planet. The problem is that Rei is only in love with Miso and wants to break it to the others that they're only friends with benefits. Travel into the stars with Rei as she makes a little money, makes a little love, and learns what love really is along the way.
