"You're an atheist, you don't believe in god." I say, reminding him.
"No, but I believe in you. You're all I need Evelyn." He states, his eyes scurrying around my face, as if trying to memorise it.
"I believe in whatever you believe.." he says lowly, stepping closer, letting the confession slip as if it truly were that simple. As if god, heaven and sin- as if it really meant nothing to him.
I softly push his chest away, muttering a "that's not how it works." Of course Oscar Maxwell has never had anything to pray for.
