What happens when Rhaenyra Targaryen I wakes up on the day of Viserys I's marriage to Alicent Hightower after being burned alive by her half-brother Aegon II Targaryen? She realizes her last prayer to fix her mistakes and save her house was answered. A second chance to ensure that House Targaryen never meets the ruin she saw before she died......even if that means having to make nice with her new stepmother/ex-best friend and move around a few chess pieces.
P.S: This fic is a mixture of events from the book and the show plus a little sprinkle of what I want. Please don't take anything too seriously >_<.

Of Duty and Love
Aemond Targaryen/ Original female character House of the dragon Aemond Targaryen, the one eyed prince is in need of a marriage to further secure the family position, and pacify his chaotic heart. Alicent, begins the search and it seems like a proposal in the dornish might be in mind, but things might not go as planed, as the dornish woman that seems to speak to his heart is not the one that was originally meant for him. Troupes in this story: (minor spoilers) Choosing between two women, between what is expected versus what love commands, themes of arranged marriage, slow romance. It's not just a sickfic/sick character study only, but it will have major moments and full chapters where Aemond will be taken care of, specially by the main female, and it's a crucial point in the story, so it fits the sickfick/whump category. Note: This fic is written inside HOTD world, using some information from the book Fire and Blood as well, but is doesn't follow the canon. In this universe Rhaenyra gave up her claim, and Aegon will be crowned king. The story centers more in the greens, specially Aemond, but it will explore original characters. Visenya Targaryen grows up away from Westeros but is very aware of her heritage and who she is. When things go badly she and her mother return to Westeros where she meets her uncle Aemond. Like mother, like daughter, but unlike Rhaenyra Visenya has no intention of losing the man she loves or her inheritance. This story will not follow the TV show or the book timeline. This is a love story where the dance of the dragons does not happen. In this story, Alicent married Viserys when Rhaenyra was 6 years old.
