[Book 1 & 2]
"I wear my emotions on my sleeve you know what I'm saying
I've always been like that, my whole life, man
If I fuck with you, I'm all the way out there
If I don't fuck with you
I don't mind you knowing I don't fuck with you"
Kevin Gates - Perfect Imperfection
BOOK 1:
Angelique is a boutique owner that is very intelligent with her very own hustle. Terrell is a drug dealer that is intellectual, tough, with a horrible temper. No one ever saw this couple happening. Everybody knows that the lifestyle of two hustlers isn't peaches and cream, but these two have learned that lesson plenty of times. Angelique knows that when she loves, she loves hard, and she'll do just about anything to keep what's hers. Terrell never really acknowledges the words "love" or "relationship", and that is exactly what Angelique craves. He's not too great at showing his emotions, but once he does, Angelique starts questioning whether or not she can handle her lifestyle especially when he gets out of hand. Sometimes, things are almost always too good to be true. Will the pair work?
BOOK 2:
Angelique and Kevin are back at it worse than ever. It seems like everything causes an argument, and it doesn't look too good. With Angelique dating someone else, Kevin doesn't know what to do with himself. He finds himself isolated and unsure of what he should do. He turns to the true love that has never left him before, music. He begins working on his studio album, Islah. As Kevin goes on the journey of finding himself, he also finds himself bumping to Angelique at every corner. How can they co-parent with constantly butting heads and fighting feelings?

"If you asked me three months ago what heartbreak was, I would tell you it's losing somebody close to you due to unspeakable circumstances.
But right now, in this moment, I would say it's you.
I would say it's the feeling I got in my chest when I realized I was out of time.
When I stood in the rain and yelled for you to stay, but all I saw was your back.
I would say heartbreak is lying in bed at two in the morning, watching my ceiling fan go around and around, wondering why you couldn't stop to listen.
Two seconds. All I needed was two seconds to say the words.
All I needed was to seconds for me to tell you I was in love with you. With everything about you. With the way you move, and the feeling of your arms around me. With the feeling of your chest vibrating as you laugh.
Heartbreak is falling in love with everything about you, but having the words permanently stuck in my throat."

Gracelyn Levinsky grew up with Daniel Grey. She has always looked to him as a brother, but when she escapes from her abusive Mom and moves to the same town Danny moved to when he was ten, she finds out that he's in love with her. After countless attempts to get her to feel the same, Danny gives up.
But when Grace realizes just how much she does love Danny, words can't help her because he shut her out of his life completely.
How do you tell somebody who you can't talk to that you're in love with them?
Simple. You force them to listen.
