Miraculous Ladybug is a show with fundamental issues and its canon origin for the characters does not escape from being problematic. So out of my disappointment, and with a sprinkle of inspiration, I rewrote the origin story into something I think would be more enticing as a show. And in the process of rewriting the origins, a new story enfolds entirely.
Titled "Bonds Beyond Fate" instead of "Ladybug," I wanted to highlight that the story is about more than just Marinette, but also about everyone involved in these fateful, tangled situations.
So, strap in! It's gonna be an interesting ride!

They live in America. Because this is an AU. They go to a high school in New York with Peter Parker, though they don't really know each other. The two tend to stand out in the crowd, letting themselves be bullied. But that all changes when a mysterious man hands them an ancient Chinese box. Through the power of their jewelry from the box and magic it grants, Marinette and Adrien are super heroes who one day meat SpiderMan. Together they become great friends who fight crime under the watchful eye of Tony Stark. This book was discontinued on my profile and was adopted by another user. The link is at the end of this part of the fan fiction. WARNING: This was written in 2019 and I was 14. Basically a baby. In other words, the writing is really bad, there's grammar and typo errors, and I censored the bell out of it. It did get discontinued and the person who adopted it DID NOT write much more for it. So this is a miraculous ladybug themed story. It will have some 🔞 stuff, read at ur own risk. I will try to finish it, (started it in 2021 and forgot it exists) but I don't really have any sparks of creativity in me rn. I feel like I rushed everything, but don't worry, my next work will be up to date, contain more characters and not only focus on the two of them. (ya know) Also this started bad so it's not gonna include too much stuff from the latest seasons. Description: It's a story about how Adrien is haunted by a nightmare in which he's akumatized, a lot of character development focused on Adrien, but also on Marinette. Chat Noir/Adrien developing a bond with Marinette. It will include parts with Alya, Nino, and the others. Of course, at some point there will be a reveal, angsty moments, smut (heh) and I don't plan on stopping the fic at the superheroes reveal or Hawkmoths. I would love to include maybe 4 more parts after, each being from a season (like a part about spring, summer, etc) and then I might end it on a post reveal and everything in the winter, but it will have an open ending and I'll probably make another fanfic to continue the story, but that one will include absolutely everything until season 6. a lot of remarks to the past and everything.
