Ikari Damashi , daughter of Aki, a non-mage and Yoru, a Heavenly Body Magic user. When her village is attacked by a demon from the book of Zeref, Deliora, her mother tried in vain to avenge her fathers death and protect Kari. After her mother's death, Ikari is alone in the world other than her aunt Ur and cousin Ultear. Somehow however, a dark, powerful magic exploded from Ikari, which she has no memory of and cannot use. Soon after her parent's deaths, Ikari is adopted by the Soul Element dragon, Tamashi. Eventually, Tamashi leaves her too. Soon, Ikari is captured by Grimoire Heart for information of her father's location. Not believing that he is dead, Grimoire Heart tortures and holds Ikari captive for years before she escapes. Eventually meeting both a strange, winged girl and a blonde haired celestial mage.
Meanwhile, Queen Shagotte had two daughters, the oldest being Pandora, better known as the cursed exceed, and the youngest, unnamed, but would later be called Carla. When the day finally came for the exceed children to be sent to Earthland, headstrong Pandora argued with the Queen, eventually striking her. The penalty for striking the queen is death. Before she could be executed by another member of the royal guard, her best friend Pantherlilly, a strange void swallows her and she falls to earth. Eventually, she meets a mysterious dragon slayer with a dark past full of loss. Her name is Ikari Damashi.
Together, the two encounter new enemys as well as friends, or, rather a friend in a blonde celestial mage named Lucy, who, like Ikari and Pandora, has no one else to accept her.
Finally, the group meets two wizards who will change their lives forever. A navy haired Ice Make mage with a dark past, and a salmon haired Salamander who hides his sadness with a smile.
