The Traitor, An Elder Scrolls Story

It has been nearly three years since the Dragon Conflict ended in Skyrim. The Empire is still recovering its control of Skyrim after the Civil War against the Stormcloak Rebels, who tried to push the Empire out of Skyrim. They are still hiding the identity of the new Emperor after Emperor Titus Mede II was assassinated by an assassin from the Dark Brotherhood. The Thalmor have only grown in power as they continue their campaign to take hold over the entirety of Tamriel. Many continents hold their ground against the Thalmor, but their numbers never seem to dwindle. Sadly, the one hope the Empire had to beat the Thalmor had disappeared as the Dragonborn never returned from Solstheim after he defeated Mirak, The First Dragonborn. Without the Dragonborn, the Blades stood without a proper goal, so they took to defeating the remainder of the dragons that plagued Skyrim and gaining favor among the civilians in the hope more would join them. While it can't be proven by anyone, it is rumored that a Blade agent and General Tullius met to discuss a potential alliance, but nothing has come of it since the rumor was spread. Now, the Thalmor heard of these rumors and began to occupy towns in Skyrim, imprisoning anyone they believed to be Blade sympathizers and publicly executing anyone who they thought to be a Blade or admitted to hiding Blade activity. Their distrust of the Blades has even turned into their own ranks. Non-Altmer members of the Thalmors are constantly called into question their loyalty.
