Alone in a sterile hospital room, trapped in a still, dreamless void, her life is nothing more than a fragile thread, disconnected from the chaos that surrounds her.
Rick Grimes wakes in a world unrecognizable-an empty hospital and a city reduced to ruin. Disoriented, with no memory of how it all happened, he stumbles through the emptiness, drawn to Elowen's room. She is alone-vulnerable-and the only thing left in the desolate hospital.
With everything lost, Rick makes a promise: He will find his family, and he will protect this girl, no matter the cost.
