David has made mistakes and has a ton of trouble with letting go of his past. To make things worse, he's schizophrenic. He has voices that haunt him where ever he goes. He is standing on the edge about to end everything when he turns around and runs away. That's when he meets Lorelei.

" I...", the girl tried to explain herself but didn't have the courage to utter a single word in the presence of his dominating aura. " You need a lesson so you never forget who you belong to", he said angrily, before smashing his lips on hers, kissing her roughly, punishing her.
