Mature
Simone Jackson has everything-except peace. She's a powerful, wealthy woman who's built an empire, yet beneath the designer clothes and million-dollar smile, she's drowning in loneliness, trust issues, and crippling insecurities. Every relationship has crumbled, and no amount of success fills the aching void.

Marcus Evans is living a different reality. A humble mechanic and DoorDash driver, he's scraping by to make ends meet. But despite his struggles, he remains grounded, kind, and content with the simple life he's built.

When fate brings them together over a late-night delivery, sparks fly in ways neither expected. Simone's cold, guarded exterior clashes with Marcus's warm, genuine nature, forcing them both to confront their deepest fears and desires. As their worlds collide, they're drawn into a whirlwind of passion, vulnerability, and transformation that neither saw coming.

Will Marcus be the one to help Simone break down her walls, or will her insecurities push him away? And can she offer him something beyond her wealth that he never thought he needed?

Blake flipped on her living room lights as she entered her new home. For the most part she was unpacked, she had her furniture set up she just had 4 or 5 boxes left to unpack. She pulled her service weapon off her waist and sat it down on her coffee table she sat Milo's old case file down. She sat on the couch and opened her laptop that was already sitting on the coffee table. She went to the google search engine and typed in 'Milo Brown'. Once the results loaded from the search, she heard a loud thud come from upstairs. She grabbed her service weapon taking the safety off, she turned her light off and headed toward the steps once she heard the loud thud again. She moved like a ninja; her footsteps weren't even heard as she traveled up the steps of her new home. She eased around the corner into the guest room with her gun out in front of her, she silently checked that room and made her way to the room across the hall with her gun still out front. She heard the loud thud again down the hall in her bedroom. She exited her office and made her way down the hall to her bedroom, she eased into her bedroom and the man in front of her froze. "Freeze police!" She shouted at him, and he held his hands in the air. She saw a badge holstered to his waist and a service weapon. He had on a red button down that was tucked into his black sacks, some fancy-dress shoes, and a black tie. "You can see me?" He asked, he was shocked. "What kinda question is that you're standing in my bedroom." She replied watching his hands. She would shoot the moment he made the wrong move. "You can shoot me, but it'll be a waste of bullets." "Why are you in my house? Get down on the ground and put your hands behind your head."

The first book in a trilogy about high school sweethearts navigating love and relationships in a poverty stricken area. Will a tragic home and family life tear them apart, or can they withstand the test of time? Follow Ari, Corky, Mel, and Tyra in their stories. (No relation to the characters in "The Gates", I just enjoy those names). Book one: Ride for you. An introduction to our characters.
