The Darkness had begun to manifest in Eris shortly after her seventeenth birthday. It ravaged through her. The necromancy magick she suppressed before was now forcing her to do things she normally wouldn't have, becoming: impulsive, short tempered, and murderous.

In an effort to obtain sanity on herself, after killing her best friend, Eris is forced to move out of her hometown where El Rey Muerto takes her under his watchful eye. Not completely trusting the young man, she finds herself in an effort to twist his arm backwards before he finds out anything else about her.

But there is a larger plan in action. El Rey Muerto isn't all he is cracked up to be, and secrets about Eris and her family still have yet to be revealed. With Eris's and everyone else's lives on the brink of devastation, with the last full-blooded and vengeful necromancer on the loose, they either have to work together to save themselves or find a way to conjoin and save the innocent within the New World.
