*"Wondering if you are in love is like the ocean wondering if it is water"*

Phoenix - affectionately nicknamed Enix by her closest friends - is a Dreg. A conwoman, a theif, a Ravkan-Kerch, and much more. She is also a Tidemaker. And a damn good one.

Her heart, her cold black heart belongs to the one and only Bastard of the Barrel, Kaz Brekker. Of course, secrets like this are meant to be kept. She is a natural born acrobat, born on the rope and Lyra, moving gracefully like the crystal clear oceans. When Kaz asks her to complete a quest for money that could buy her debt off, she happily swings off her rope and agrees.

The quest for the Sun Summoner brings painful memories back for Enix as they sail to Ravka, towards the Little Palace to steal Alina and bring her back. But what happens when the Darkling intercepts and the Grisha try to stop them?

Fuelled by the pain in her heart, her powers ebb and flow like the tide. She is a dancer fuelled by love and pain, in a world that had turned her into the 'Siren'...

Gwyneth had always felt connected to her faith, a higher power presiding over her. That faith had shaken that devastating day those years ago, the day that went on to haunt her every nightmare for years to come. She's still trying to come back from it, to not only restore her faith in life and love, but her faith in herself. The sanctity of her spirit- she prayed for resolve. Every punch was a prayer. Every mile was a hymn. Until her knuckles bled and her knees gave. Azriel had been surrounded by darkness his whole life, a poison on his world, on his being. He exercised restraint in his every waking moment, banishing that darkness within himself. Some guessed of the strain it put on him, but no one knew the extent of it, how deep his scars ran. It was better this way, he was sure. He had always thought that if there were a higher power- which he wholly doubted- such deities must loathe him to have burdened him such darkness. He hadn't much faith in the gods anyway, much less faith that he could sway their opinion on him. But Gwyneth and Azriel did have one thing in common: the quiet fight within themselves. They only knew one way: to go about it alone, couldn't fathom letting another in. But there's a magic in finding someone who is your equal but opposite, something transforming. And frankly, Gwyneth and Azriel could both use a little magic. All characters owned by SJM in the ACOTAR series. Story takes place after the events of ACOSF. Aligns with the events in my other fic: A Storm of Flames and Deceit. I haven't finished Crescent City, so this story takes place outside of the events of those books as well. ༶•┈┈ ♛ ┈┈•༶ "You really want me to shy away like I used to? Like your little mouse?" I pierce him with every word. The Darkling stares back and for a while the only thing that moves in the room are the shadows. "Alina, you misunderstand me. I have waited centuries for someone like you. Centuries, Alina, alone. I do not need to answer your question. You know what I want." Please don't say it, I think. "I want you to be my Queen, Alina." He pushes off from his chair and I shiver in my seat as he pauses by my side. The Darkling's hands find my chin and he holds my head tenderly with both hands. My power sparks at his touch like fire to kindling and I have to clench a hand in my dress skirt to keep control. He makes sure my gaze is entirely on him when he says, "And you know you will." I shake underneath the pressure of his words and he strokes my chin to calm me. Fine, but he has no idea what he is asking for. I shall be a queen, but not his. And he will regret the day he forced me back at his side like a dog. Aleksander, I think, bow. ༶•┈┈ ♛ ┈┈•༶ It starts with burst of light, like it did in the beginning. Every time a Sun Summoner dies, there is a burst of light. With every flashing death, Alina can feel a strong hum of power return to her. Fearing the loss of her new life, she sets out on a mission to the Little Palace with hopes her old friends could help her. Little does Alina know, a familiar shadow sits on the throne of Grisha. As a whirlwind of events sets her right back on square one, Alina makes a vital decision to change everything. Still, she finds herself teetering in the edge of letting the Darkling and her powers swallow her up. The Sun Summoner has grown and she can no longer be a saint. She has to be a queen. ༶•┈┈ ♛ ┈┈•༶ This is a Grisha trilogy fanfiction that takes place after Ruin and Rising. All rights belong to Leigh Bardugo. VERY SLOW BURN Darklina!

"Don't look so shocked, I'm nothing if not a negotiator," The privateer grins, tapping his chin in a mockery of thought, "Though I do so love exceeding people's expectations, so I suppose a bit of shock is inevitable." ~~~ childhood friends | strangers | lovers (the star crossed kind of course) ~~~ This is only canon for the first Grishaverse series. When I wrote T&T, I hadn't read Six of Crows or King of Scars so there won't be any spoilers. ~~~ Lying never came naturally to Korina. Even after years of friendship with the most cunning boy in Ravka she still hasn't mastered the craft. So after Nikolai left it was only a matter of time before the truth came out. She skipped her Grisha examination thirteen years ago and now they want her back. Now on the run from both the First and Second Army, Korina makes her way to the coast, hoping to flee to Novyi Zem on a merchant vessel. She's close enough to freedom to taste it on the salty air when she makes her first mistake. She gets on the wrong ship. A Pirate's ship. ~~~ If you don't like dramatic irony this story will not be for you. | Prequel to Shadow and Bone. warning ~ talk of sexual assault | nothing spicier than in the grishaverse books | Siege and Storm spoilers ~ obviously lol 27,000 words | fourteen parts | completed
