"Of three things, I was positively certain. First; monsters were real. Secondly; Arthur was one of them. And the third truth? He was the only one I was safe with."

I had never fit in, ever since I was a little girl I'd felt like I was restrained to the outskirts of society- I was other. When my disastrous engagement came to a violent end and I became even more of a town pariah, I was ready to pack my bags and hit the road. And then Arthur Mason took a couple bullets for me, and every thing changed.

Within each other Arthur and I found a relief from our solitary existence, and with every truth we uncovered about one another our bond grew stronger. Neither of us were ready for what our hearts wanted, but there was no stopping the love that unfurled between us. And both of us would need to fight tooth and claw to protect it.

'No, he didn't'. I was so shocked by the turn of events. Everything was going fine and then suddenly boom, everything turned upside down. I just couldn't believe this. What did he think of himself? 'Leave me alone.' I said firmly but his hold on me was so strong. I was struggling to get out of his bear hold but to no avail. 'Oh!! So, the poor lady thinks that I will leave her alone and just let her go free?' He had that evil laugh and boy, his breath stank. 'Man, you just signed your death warrant and I will do one favour on you.' No one messes with me. 'Ooooh, I am so scared that I almost peed my pants.' Again that idiotic laugh. I counted till 5 and then kicked right in his balls. I turned around and grabbed his hair from roots, jerked them so badly and then gave my hard elbow shot on his chin. Everything happened so fast for one moment he was standing and the other lying on floor wiggling. I charged at him with my cheetah speed, picked up a wooden rod and started hitting him wildly, 'You idiotic stinky breath was trying to steal my backpack. You are so dead.' 'Favour, favour, favour.' He was screaming in pain just after few seconds and was panting hard. I picked my paste from my bag and threw at him, 'Brush your teeth.' I was fuming. I turned around and saw him standing wide-eyed, 'Hi, I am Scarlett.' I smiled showing my 32 teeth. 'I am scared.' His look puzzled me. After encountering something of myths one day after work, Valentina begins questioning her once mundane world. Seeking answers to prove she's not crazy, she receives another shocking truth that hits even closer to home. Mason returns home to escape his past, but familiar faces return, and new threats arrive in town. Keeping an eye on the enemy, he struggles to avoid getting involved any more than he should. But, when their paths cross, they learn not everything is black and white, and the people you least suspect could be your enemy. ------ 'This is a dumb idea' she thought to herself. Slowly she began reaching her hand towards the animal, feeling compelled to touch it. Would it be as soft as it looked? Did it want her to touch it? The rain continued pelting them, but it felt like its eyes were drawing her into another space, where nothing else mattered. The sudden desire to be closer to this animal was beginning to overtake her mind, especially as her hand neared its head. The whole time the animal only watched her with those large eyes. She imagined it almost asking for her touch. It didn't cross her mind how she knew he'd be soft, or how she even knew the creature was a 'he' to begin with. As her finger just barely grazed the animal, multiples things happened. She felt something shock her causing her to pull her hand back, just as thunder and lightning sounded. When the light cleared the animals' eyes, were narrowed into slits, and it was growling. It was a deep menacing sound that sent her stumbling backward, heart wildly beating. It bared fangs the size of her hand alone dipping its head. Had her touch angered the animal into finally attacking her? She kept moving backward in the rain, slipping in her converses as the creature continued growling. It was then she knew she was prepared to run, no matter what happened. ( discontinued to be rewritten ) Huntingtown was panicking; no one knew where the sirens were coming from. There was no electricity, and there was no way for the storm Sirens to be sounding, yet they were. The entire Town was awake; everyone had a weapon. They had grabbed guns, knives, swords, and bats if they could be wielded and used for self-defense; Renee aimed her rifle at the trees, looking desperately for an explanation. Why would a siren sound? They only sounded when they were in Danger, so where was the Danger? When the predators revealed themselves, that was where the siren noise was coming from. Renee could feel her heart jump into her throat. Her face went pale; they were here. They had found the Town. Terror and panic soon swept Huntingtown; everyone knew what those monsters could do. After all, they did conquer the planet and impose the "choosing." Huntingtown was created hoping that its isolation in a cold climate would keep the Predators away, but it didn't. A voice came over those speakers. A male voice Gruff and laced with a growl. It was almost as if whoever was speaking was annoyed and angry. "Although I have enjoyed seeing your little Town outmaneuver many hunters. I am afraid this is where your little games end. However, I will give you a chance to keep your freedom. A hunt. You will be red by your best hunter, Renee Madison." Renee felt her blood go cold as she stared wide-eyed at the ship. She was unknowingly dropping her gun at the news. " she will be your leader; she will be my prize. You have a time advantage. Go!" The ship took off, looking for a place to land, all while the news sank into the Town's residence. Renee had known she had fucked up when she fired at one of those predators and hit him. She had proven herself worthy of the hunt. Now she has to face the consequences, not only her but her entire Town had to. Renee had to win this hunt; the fate of her Town depended on it.

Heartbeats

35 parts Complete

At birth, it's assumed that nothing will go wrong with your life. You will soon exhaust the two and a half billion heartbeats humans average. But what happens when your life is no longer average, and you yourself are no longer human? Jacie never meant to mean so much for so many people. She never wanted the fate of anyone or anything to rest on her, but when her life is seemingly invaded and enveloped by the mysterious world of Charles Rice she finds out that things come to you whether you want them or not. The duties you are given mean life or death; deal with them wisely. "It was agonizingly painful. Her teeth ripped through my skin easily, like it was hot butter. My shoulder felt like it was on fire, melting, dying. Then the fire spread through my whole body. The venom coursed through my veins. It ate away away at my weakness, at anything in me that was human; it killed me. I could feel her still beside me, but I couldn't push her away. She kept forcing more venom into my body and pulling my blood into her own. She let me alone in the streets. I remember rolling over onto my back before these seizure-like tremors took over. Blood, human blood, trickled out of my mouth. Then everything went black."
