Things we yearn for…things we seek. But there are also things we do not wish to see. Things we cannot bear and cant possible imagine. These things are secrets. Secrets that are kept within the very depth of our souls. They are hidden so well that we ourselves do not remember them…so well that we who hid them do not see. There are so many secrets in this world. Secrets about mystical creatures, vampires, werewolves, fairies and the like, but this is not one of those stories. This is a different story, a story about a whole new race of creatures, a story about a whole new blanket of secrets.

The People Upstairs - Your upstairs neighbors are loud and obnoxious without any regard to you. You become fed up with them until you realize what they've been dealing with. Some say we're special, and that's why we're kept in seclusion. Beyond those walls evil lurks and innocent prey would be lost in minutes. Gone. Destroyed. Forgotten. A species so pure, that to merely be in their presence is a gift. As for my beliefs...I'm not sure. But I do know one thing: neither of those reasons explains why it is that they come for us only after we've passed the age of sixteen.
