Scarlett Avery has had a rough life between her abusive father to her abusive husband, she ends up running away to a small town outside of Georgia wanting to keep a low profile and continue her medical career with fear of him finding her and her needing to run like she always did.
But in a small town there's no hiding who you are, where meeting Officer Rick Grimes in a bar and telling him her life story and becoming friends with him and his partner Shane Walsh along with his family, feeling safe there.
Yet when Rick gets shot and she saves his life only for him to end up in a coma, the world falls apart and becomes a place for the dead rather then living, she's the only one around to make sure he stays alive.
And when he wakes up, the two of them head off on a journey to find his family.

Heartbroken, and grief stricken, Serina is not at all prepared when the world decides to end, only three months later. With no choice, Serina has to leave the only home she's ever known, and flee the city along with her sister, nephew, and her brother in law's best friend. They set up camp and try their best to live a peaceful life whilst the world as they know it, succumb to the walking dead. Serina must accept the rules of survival in this new world, while trying to protect her family, and withholding the morals she had in her owl world.
