This poem was written last night and it is meant to be an expression of my difficult upbringing, my absent family life, and the continuing trials I am facing today in later life.

I did not want to write out specific details, yet hoped to capture that my life has not been easy and that I have faced challenges without having the presence of parental figures and people there to make the difficult times easier to navigate. (I hoped themes such as these would come across without giving away too many details).

Keep it in, Don't let them win. See the light, Even in the night. There's demons - yes, we know - But we can't let it show. So keep it quiet, except for here, And know that maybe help is near. Here they'll listen without seeing, Here you can speak without being. Mostly depressing. This is my creative outlet. Everything I write is straight from my head. Please don't copy anything! Thank you so much for 2K reads! Read my second poetry book, "misty."
