"Happy Married Life, Shivya Pathak" I weakly smiled seeing my condition, mangalsutra dangling in my neck, vermilion in hair and both hands filled with gold bangles.
"Come out quickly or do you want me to break the gate," my husband knocked again.
My breath was harsh, collecting some courage I spoke, "I will come out but you will not touch me again, otherwise I will kill myself" My throat clogged up, the last word refusing to come out.
He didn't reply, just chuckled. I knew what it meant. He was going to push me further, to break me.

His eyes burned-anger, pain, something unspoken flickering behind the fire. "I won't accept this marriage," he said, voice rough. "You can't force me to accept it... to accept you.
