While seventeen year old Caroline Sebas' parents are working out their divorce, she travels from North Carolina to Boca Raton, Florida for the summer, where she stays with her Aunt Kara. Caroline plans on holing up on the shore all summer with a good book, sure she'll be unable to make any friends because of the fact that she is practically a social repellent. This is until Caroline meets the girl next door, Paige Hawthorne, who has a gorgeous older brother, Dean. When Dean and Caroline adjust to each other, they get a little too comfortable and make one little slip up that jeopardizes the entire summer, causing them each to keep a secret from Paige and their other friends.
