Asahi Ito was the epitome of perfection in middle school: top of his class, constantly winning awards, admired by his peers, and even receiving love confessions from girls he barely noticed. But despite the praise, he never cared for the attention and focused solely on his studies. Life was simple-until high school began. Tired of living up to his "perfect" reputation, Asahi decides to make a bold change. No more pristine uniforms or polished manners. He pierces his ear, leaves his shirt half-buttoned, and embraces an imperfect, carefree school life that shocks his teachers and classmates. For the first time, he feels free. But when the mysterious Ami Suzuki, the new "Miss Perfect" of the school, catches his eye, everything Asahi thought he wanted begins to unravel. Ami, with her flawless appearance and aloof attitude, seems to represent everything Asahi is trying to escape.

Asato entered Yukinaga Boy's Academy on scholarship without friends and without a partner as he lost his middle school friends and his girlfriend once he chose a different high school than them. But he is determined to follow his dream of getting a doctorate in astrophysics, and attending the most elite private high school in Japan is the surest way to reach this goal. But even elite private high schools are not free from drama. And after rejecting the advances of a classmate, Asato learns that there is another boy who apparently harbors feelings for him. Genji is another student attending Yukinaga on scholarship, but is also a former "Yanki" - part of a youth gang in middle school that he left behind when he entered Yukinaga. With his past, cold disposition, and a scary scar over his right eye, Genji naturally terrifies most of the student population. Asato is told that this same student is in love with him. But it is a lie. A deception out of retaliation for Asato's rejection. Though Asato tries to work up the nerve to "reject" Genji, the pair becomes close due to academics. But what happens when the friendship between them evolves into Asato reciprocating the feelings that he believes Genji has? And what will happen when Genji is told a mirrored lie? Deception can be like a deadly poison...but sometimes it can have unintended but amazing outcomes. - Word Count: 54,000-55,000
