[Book 3 of my Sonic: Earthbound series]

Sonic awakens in a very different body than the one he had before he was imprisoned in Robotnik's REMgage. When he learns Alex has run away, he goes on a journey to find her. Their reunion is all the more complicated due to Sonic's new form, and emotions are high as each seems to be catching new feelings for the other. Sonic is determined to explore these feelings, but overwrought with guilt, Alex is hesitant to act on hers. As if matters couldn't get more complicated, a new antagonist sets forth on a quest for vengeance on Sonic. Is this mysterious newcomer really working for Robotnik, or is he just confused and misunderstood? And what are his intentions towards Alex? Is he friend or foe?
