Her sisters-Nesta, Elain, and Feyre-knew nothing of this dark chapter of her life. When Verena returned, two of the three sisters despised her, though she never understood why. Verena had come to terms with her unfortunate life, accepting that it would stay the same for the rest of her existence. But when a fae burst into her home, demanding to know who had killed his friend, she saw a chance to be selfless. She confessed, sparing her family from his wrath. But before the situation could settle, Feyre stepped forward, admitting to the killing of the wolf. Confusion swept over the shapeshifter, leading to both Verena and Feyre being taken to Prythian, where Verena's life would change-both for better and for worse.
