A compelling historical fiction story centred on the life of Andrew Lewis, a young man born in 1895 in Belfast, Ireland. Growing up near the bustling shipyards, Andrew witnesses the construction of monumental ships like the Titanic and Olympic. As the son of a wealthy businessman, he joins his father's company, Lewis and Son, but feels a strong pull towards the sea and adventure. At the age of 17, Andrew and his family embark on the maiden voyage of the Titanic, a journey that marks the beginning of his lifelong connection with the ocean. Despite the tragedy of the Titanic, Andrew's fascination with the sea deepens. Years later, during World War I, Andrew serves as a medic and narrowly survives the sinking of another ship-the Britannic, further cementing his complex relationship with the sea. The story delves into Andrew's internal struggles as he navigates his responsibilities, his yearning for freedom, and a forbidden love with Thomas Walsh, a fellow medic who becomes an integral part of his life. Set against the backdrop of early 20th-century historical events, Andrew's life is a rich tapestry of love, loss, and resilience, all shaped by the ever-present influence of the sea.
