In The Ash Hollow Curse, Detective Simon Graves investigates a series of mysterious disappearances in the remote town of Ash Hollow, where he discovers an ancient demon called Gaki no Yami and a gateway to the Abyss. After a harrowing battle, Simon seals the demon and closes the gateway, but not without being marked by the Abyss.

Upon returning home, Simon is plagued by terrifying nightmares and paranoia, slowly descending into madness. His fear of the demon consumes him, leading him to lock himself inside his house. After being found wandering in a sleepwalking state, Simon is committed to a psychiatric hospital. Simon is swallowed by the darkness and vanishes, taken back into the Abyss, where his fate is sealed forever.
