After the sun went dark, humanity sought shelter in the deepest of oceans. Now 94 years later they live in underwater cities and refurbished submarines to survive, still lingering on to the hope they could once again walk on the planet's surface. 

Valo is a 17-year-old trans man working long days at a textile factory to provide for his disabled older sister and a drunkard mother when one day an accident leads him to receive a mysterious benefactor who funds his training to become a gaṇikā, a performing male artist, giving Valo a chance to have a high esteeming career which could lead his family from poverty, but such bargains usually comes with a high price.
