Alex has been abused his entire life. Family, lovers, friends, enemies. Sexual, physical, verbal, emotional. He's tired.
So, he tries to commit suicide.
Life is cruel for making him survive it.
He ends up with a caretaker who is just that. A caretaker.
And then it turns to more. But, Alex isn't sure if he should trust again.

Dylan is Fine. Completely Fine. With a capital F. That is, until, his mother, for some reason, taken in her godson who'd gotten kicked out of his house to make Dylan 'feel better'. Maybe it's karma for everything he's done. He just wants him back. He doesn't deserve him. He can't have him. He doesn't even deserve to repent. ............ He just wants it all to go back to how it was. He doesn't understand why he did what he did. He doesn't know why he was so mean. He wants his best friend back. He doesn't know why he's been avoiding him for a year now. He thought that living in the compound would help them revive their friendship. They're falling in love with their best friends, but past trauma and current taboos have a way of making everything more complicated. Will they be able to heal from their pasts? Or will they always see themselves as monsters? This story can be read as a standalone, but it is the sequel to both Light in the Darkness and Hashbrown and Crow. *There will be darker themes in this story and sexual content. The main characters all suffered abuse and neglect in some form, and they will reference it throughout the story in one way or another.
