Morris Finn is an eighteen-year-old fisherman living with his sickly mother on the coast of Whitby, England. After the sudden death of his father, Morris was forced to take over as the family's breadwinner, fishing the unforgiving waters of the North Sea. The cliffs are craggy, the abbey lies in ruins atop the hill, and the town is near the unforgiving sea.

Morris's life takes a sinister turn one misty evening when he sees what no one else will believe - a monstrous figure. When Morris reports what he saw to the authorities, his claims are dismissed as hysterical nonsense. But the disappearances of townsfolk continue to rise, sparking fear in the quiet village. To his surprise, he encountered two entirely different investigators willing to help for two entirely different reasons.

As the three investigate, they begin to uncover unsettling clues, buried secrets, and whispers of ancient legends. The deeper they go, the more they realize that the figure Morris saw in the fog may not be human at all - and that whatever stalks the shadows of Whitby is far from finished.

Author's Notes: This was not proofread; excuse wrong grammar or use of punctuation, the only one helping me is Grammarly lol. And is also my first time writing a mystery <3
