Born of a vampire and a werewolf, 17 year old Kira Yuuki was never really accepted by either kind, feared by humans for being a monster, and hated by vampires and werewolves for being neither one or the other. Strangely enough, Kira didn't mind, for he had two parents that were always very kind to him. But his happiness didn't last. One day, at the age of 12, Kira and his parents were out on a walk in the woods, and they were supposedly attacked by a bear. Kira's father gave him The Skull's Amuleto (a powerful necklace owned by Kira's family for ages.) and told him to take care of his young two year old sister, Nani. Years later, he settled into a village and lived with Nani and his girlfriend Janice. When all seems well again, Nani is killed and Kira is convicted along with Janice. They escape, and Janice and Kira are attacked from behind. He passes out, to find himself in a hospital (500 years in the future) and with amnesia. He tries to rediscover himself and meets Marsha and her daughter, Kiki along the way, which eventually help him in looking for Janice, who may or may not be still alive. Will he rise to the light, or fade to death?
