Leonie and Devonté had always been drawn to each other like moths to a flame, no matter how destructive it had become. They were high school sweethearts, building their own world together. Devonté was her anchor, and she was his reason to hope, but their love was as wild as a wildfire-passionate, uncontrollable, and mostly burning too hot. The streets, their environment, and their own demons added to the toxicity, creating a toxic cycle they couldn't break.
The final fracture came when Devonté was sent to prison. Just before he left, Leonie found out she was pregnant , her heart aching with the weight of their history their now ended relationship. How could she tell him? Could she trust that love was enough to save them from the mess they had created? Fear won. She chose silence, deciding it was better to let him go, believing she would only trap him further in a life of constant guilt and regret.
Now, Devonté is out, and Leonie feels her world spinning again. She had imagined this moment countless times during his absence, but now that it's real, she's paralyzed by fear. How does she tell him? Will he hate her for keeping something so monumental from him? Will he walk away for good? She can't bear the thought of seeing the pain in his eyes, knowing she's the cause of it.
